4 Month Check Up

Alexis had her 4 month well child visit today. She now weighs 14 lbs. 4 oz. and she's 23 1/2 inches long. The Dr. wants her to start eating rice cereal twice a day. I hope she'll like it, eat it, and then sleep through the night. :) The Dr. asked if she'd rolled over yet. I said yes she has and he said from tummy to back? And I said "no from back to tummy". He was shocked...I guess she's not supposed to have done that yet. He said it's great, it means she's developing quickly. I also told him that I put her in her swing the other day and instead of sitting back and swinging, she pulls herself up into a straight sitting position, which makes the swing stop. He seemed very pleased at her progress. Alexis is in the 60% for weight and 25% for height and 50% for the size of her head.

Alexis also got her second set of shots. The picture above is of her first set of shots at two months...but the band aids are exactly the same as last time...so you get the picture. She only cried for a few minutes...once I was able to pick her up she calmed down. She's such a good baby. The Dr. told me that she's beautiful and absolutely perfect. I totally agree!

Roll Over

Well she's done it. Alexis rolled from her back to her tummy Tuesday night. She was so happy and smiling. I was a mixture of excited that she did it and mortified that she's getting big enough to do "baby" things. She rolled over three times and the last time she rolled back over to her back....I think she had some momentum going, but still she did it.

She's discovered her hands and chews on them constantly. She discovered her feet last weekend and keeps lifting them in the air so she can grab her toes. She's been playing with her toys and seems to be entertained by them for a few minutes at a time. She talks a lot and makes funny noises. Shane had her laughing pretty good the other night. She doesn't laugh a lot so when we can get her to laugh it's priceless. She is such a wonderful, beautiful, smart, loving baby. I love her so much! I wish she'd stay little forever.

Jack

Our puppy dog Jack is finally home. It's been a year and a half since he's been able to live with us and we're so happy to get him home.

Jack seems to be doing ok. I think he's getting overwhelmed with attention, but that's ok. He's a pretty good dog for the most part, although he's decided to try and dig under the gate of our fence when we're not home. Naughty little puppy. I hope he gets over that soon.

He plays with Allison and sleeps in her room. He cuddles with me and we play fetch. Jack has conversations with Shane and sniffs Alexis' feet. It's cute the way Jack carefully sniffs Alexis. I think he's already become her protector. We didn't have Caden this weekend, so tonight will be our first night will ALL of us home together.

Welcom Home Jack!
