She Broke It!

Last Saturday Allison rammed her shoulder into the arm of the couch. Not on purpose of course, but hard enough that it broke her colar bone.
Yep...broke it right in two. It might be hard to see, but the bone going across the x-ray is her colar bone and as you can see it's snaped right in half.

Here's a closer shot of the break.

This is the full shot of her chest. And on the right side of the picture at the top you can see the break.

She has to wear this harness thing that brings her shoulder up and aligns the bone back up to wear it will connect and hopefully grow back together right. That's all they can do for you when you break your colar bone...put a funny harness on you and tell you to take IBprophen. We go back in two weeks to take another look and see if it's healing properly. I hope it is because I hate to think of what they'll do if it's not.

This poor child. She broke it on Saturday and we thought she just pulled her neck muscle. Sunday it still hurt, but there was no brusing or puffiness so we're still thinking pulled muscle. Sunday afternoon we leave to go camping/hunting, she say's she's fine, but that if it still hurts when we get home she wants to go to the doctor. Monday still no improvement and Shane finds a bump on her colar bone. Tuesday...still camping. Wednesday we get home late. Thursday morning we go into the doctor and she orders x-rays and we find out that she's been walking around for five days with a broken cloar bone. Now this whole time I was giving her IBprophen, which is all they can do for her, pain wise...so I'm trying not to feel to guilty about that, but holy cow five days. Allison didn't say it was as bad as it probably is. One thing is for sure, I will definatley not be getting the Mother of the Year Award.

I'm sorry we didn't get you into the doctor sooner sweatheart. I hope you feel better real soon. I love you.

Happy Haunting Everyone!

It's that time of year again. Now, I never liked trick or treating, or dressing up for that matter, but there's something about Halloween that I just love. Maybe it's the fun and scary decorations, or the chill in the air, or the candy? It is one of my favorite holidays to decorate and plan for.

I was looking for Halloween songs to put on the blog and came across The Haunted Mansion Theme. This is one of my all time favorite rides at Disneyland. I don't know how to post video... so if you'd like here's a link to a video of the actual Haunted Mansion ride.

She Sits

Yes Ladies and Gentelmen...my 4 1/2 month old daughter sits up all by herself. Sunday night I had her in her crib and she kept trying to sit up, so I pulled her up and she was holding onto my finger to steady herself. She looked up and me and smiled and then let go of my finger...and didn't fall over. She just sat there, and sat there and looked around and smiled, and I'm yelling for Shane and Allison to come see what this wonderful creature is doing. She's growing up too fast.

Tonsil Free

Happy 1 year Anniversary Allison!
One year ago, on October 1st, Allison got her tonsils taken out. I thought in honor of this event I'd post some pictures of that exciting day.

(Allison getting ready)

("MOM")

(Allison right after she woke up from surgery)

(Sipping some juice)

(Allison Recovering)

(Waiting to see if Allison will throw up again)

(Once Allison got out of recovery, she was delighted
to find out she got to ride to the car in a wheelchair.)
So in honor of my daughters 1 year anniversary of being tonsil free and us being strep free,
I woke up Thursday with...yep you guessed it.
STREP THROAT!
Happy Anniversary Kid!
